2018 Equinox Interior Designed for Fashion and Function

The all-new, redesigned 2018 Chevrolet Equinox looks great inside and out, and a lot of thought and research went into developing an interior with a perfect balance between stylish looks, comfort, and durability. Designers of the Equinox interior looked to social media to discover what drivers wanted in a vehicle and what challenges they faced in keeping their vehicles looking their best. “Many fashion trends disappear after a year of two, while the Equinox is designed for the long haul, making the durability of its materials very important,” said Mara Kapsis, color and trim designer for the 2018 Equinox. “By following real people and absorbing the little things in life that help or hinder them — such as photos posted of muddy paws, spilled drinks or stains on the seats — we learned more about how we could make the new Equinox easier to live with and enjoy every day.” Phillips Chevrolet of Frankfort, Lansing, and Bradley has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory including a great selection Equinox with more 2018s arriving every day.

Three Chevy Models Named NACTOY Semi-Finalists

The North American Car and Truck of the Year is one of the automotive industry’s most prestigious awards, and we are pleased to report that all three Chevrolet models that were nominated have advanced in the competition. Nominees were announced earlier this summer, and now the field has been narrowed to 29 vehicles competing in three categories. The all-new, redesigned 2018 Chevrolet Traverse  and 2018 Chevy Equinox both compete for the Utility of the Year Award. Chevrolet’s third nomination is thanks to the off-road ready 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2, which is up for Truck of the Year. The field of semi-finalists will be narrowed to three finalists in each category by year’s end. The winners will be announced in January at the Detroit Auto Show. Phillips Chevrolet of Frankfort, Lansing, and Bradley has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory including a great selection of current and future award winners.

New Chevrolet Crossover Spotted

This heavily camouflaged vehicle that was recently spotted testing is expected to be a new crossover utility vehicle joining the Chevy TraverseEquinox, and Trax in Chevrolet’s lineup. This new crossover will be larger than the compact Trax and midsize Equinox, but smaller than the full-size Traverse. Many in the automotive community believe that Chevy will revive the Blazer model name for this new CUV. The Blazer is expected to be built on the same platform as the Traverse, with the option of two or three rows of seating. That sounds like the perfect combination for maximizing cargo room and comfort while maintaining great fuel efficiency and performance. The Blazer is expected to arrive in time for the 2018 model year, so that means an official announcement should be coming soon. Check back on this blog often for the latest news on the Blazer and the whole Chevy lineup. Phillips Chevrolet of Frankfort, Lansing and Bradley has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory, including a great selection of crossovers in three different sizes to meet a variety of needs.

Equinox Diesel Offers Impressive 39 mpg Hwy

Get ready to ditch the gas station, the 2018 Chevy Equinox offers an EPA- certified 39 mpg on the highway with the available 1.6L turbo-diesel engine. The Equinox diesel is expected to have greater highway milage than the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and the Nissan Rogue Hybrid. With a 577-mile cruising range means the Equinox diesel can get you a lot farther between fill-ups such as from Chicago to Memphis. “It is very fun to drive, with torque on demand at all speeds,” said Dan Nicholson, vice president of Global Propulsion Systems. “In fact, the engine delivers 90 percent of peak torque between 1,500 and 3,250 rpm. 2018 Equinox Earns Rave Review From Motor Trend

This week Motor Trend released their Buyer’s Guide for the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and to say they liked it would be an understatement. They also enjoyed the upscale look of the redesigned interior, as well as the design and ease of use of the MyLink infotainment system. They found the base 1.5-liter turbo engine sufficient for most drivers’ needs, but encouraged people looking for a bit more pep to give the upgraded 2.0 liter engine a try.  Motor Trend sums it best: “Chevy has vastly improved the Equinox with an attractive exterior wrapped around an inviting, easy-to-use interior on a tight, smooth-riding, lithe-handling chassis.” Phillips Chevrolet of Frankfort, Lansing, and Bradley has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory including a great selection Equinox with more 2018s arriving every day.

USA Today has taken their first test drive of the all-new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and they had nothing but great things to say about the compact crossover. “Chevrolet has been performing magic lately, making hundreds of pounds of vehicles’ weight disappear without reducing their comfort or features,” reports their test driver. “The 2018 Equinox compact SUV may be its best hat trick yet.” Despite a 4.7 inch reduction in length and 400 pound weight loss from the previous generation, the 2018 Equinox has gained 3.5 cubic feet of interior volume, landing it among the class leaders in passenger space.
